Animals in space

Animals have played a very important role in space research. We watched this video about animals in space between 1959 and 1961, before Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space.

What other animals could we send to space? What benefit would this have for space research? We came up with our own proposals about which animals we would send to space next.

Brandon - 'I'd like to send an eagle to space and see if it could still flap its wings with no gravity!'

'Could you hear a horse neigh in space?' - Alice

Dylan - ' I wonder if a pigeon would survive going to space!'

Lots of languages!

In our class we can speak many languages. Watch as Maryam, Annamaria, Lakshana and Obed teach us some short phrases in Urdu, Malayalam, Telegu, Ikwerre and Gaelic.

We are the planets of the solar system!

We love this planet rap! It has taught us not only the order of the planets, but many features of each planet too. Obed knows all of the words already! Can you learn it too?

Coordinates

We now understand how to plot and find locations using coordinates thanks to our giant floor grid!

Nebula in a bottle

On Space Day we learnt about nebulas, we now know how stars die and how new stars are made.
Look at how they turned out.

Children In Need

Thank you to everybody who helped us to raise money for Children in need this year, look how fabulous we all looked in our spots and ball gowns!

Well done to Obed, Tanaye, Christian and Jayden for talking part in the dance competition!

Space Day

We had an amazing time on space day, we're sure you'll agree that some of our outfits were out of this world!
